Preparation Day
I am T-Minus two days before my departure on a weeks long trip back to Michigan on the Harley. I'm starting my journal now.
I have this dream to spend as little time as possible in Arizona in July. Last year, I went to Mexico City and Studies Spanish. This year, however, I want to do something I haven't done since 1985. Ride a motorcycle between Arizona and Michigan. Of course, in 1985 I was going the other way - And I will be riding my bike back. However, the goal is to see family I haven't seen in a long time.
That means I will be spending nearly a month riding. Yeah, even for me that's a long time.
Fortunately, my wife and I have reached a mutual understanding. I can ride as much as I want as long as she doesn't have to ride at all.
I joke about that, but I am very blessed she supports my sense of adventure and hobby. Since GameTruck went completely remote during COVID, it gives me the chance to try the digital nomad life. I'm excited.
It also reminds me a little of little league. With my year as EO president coming up, now's a good time to recharge my batteries and get ready to do the challenging but fun heavy lift of leading my company and my chapter at the same time. Getting some wind therapy will be nice. What I like about this ride is that I've put time on my side. I will have 21 days to make a ride that should take less than 10. I don't have to rush.
So now comes the big question... what to pack?
