Day 6 - Minneapolis
I make my way to Minneapolis.
The ride from West Des Moines to Minneapolis. I didn't realize that West Des Moines seems to be in the middle of Iowa and Minneapolis is near the lower part of Minnesota. As a result, I spent a lot more time in Iowa than I planned.
I did manage to stop by Mason City Harley, and find a Harley Jersey in my size! That was a bonus.
I then made it all the way to Keith's place in Chanhassen, MN on the west side of town. Minneapolis is BIG. They have seen explosive growth over the last few years with some major global corporations head quartered here, and lower cost of living than Chicago they have seen a steady influx of people from down South looking to move up here and raise their kids in the midwest.
Harley does an awful job of stocking motorclothes - okay T-SHIRTS in my size, but they do make an awesome ride. The 2024 CVO Road Glide is the best looking bike I've seen in years.
Work To Do
I met with Zach Taylor, Brad's son, and the manager of GameTruck Minneapolis. Minneapolis / St. Paul seems like an incredible place for families and the city just feels so clean and new. It has a vibrant energy. They just moved their third trailer into this market. I'm sure it will do well.
Zach and I met at Jimmies, the local watering hole and I got to try some Walleye "fingers" (basically fried fish sticks) and they're amazing. In the land of 10,000 lakes you better believe they have some good fish.
